Riber Castle is a 19th century Grade II listed country house,situated in the hamlet of Riber,on a hill overlooking Matlock.It was built by John Smedley in the 1860's as his personal residence.During the 20th century,Riber castle was used as a boy's school,a wartime food store and a zoo.
